It feels like time is flying by, while simultaneously standing still. We are pushing hard for April and feel confident we will get there, but boy are we running on fumes:) We are finding the nuances of local government to be challenging, but honestly more helpful than we anticipated.
Our friends and families have been outrageously helpful with both the big and little things. We are eternally grateful and can’t believe they keep showing up for all the dirty work.
Can’t wait to show you all the final touches, but figured a quick look into the beginning stages would have to do for now!
Great news today – we have come to an agreement with our now landlords and can finally pass on the news!
We are moving into the former Bono’s Pizza at 3825 Watson Rd. Tiny, free-standing building in the parking lot of Pietro’s Restaurant @ the corner of Watson & Lindenwood.
It is the middle of a thriving business district that is, more importantly, smack dap in the center of Lindenwood Park. Such a wonderful neighborhood full of families and people with strong ties to the community.
We are so proud that we get to become of vital part of it all!
There is some work to do – painting, new sign, counters, lighting, equipment and of course business licenses & permits…but we plan on pushing hard for April and will update this site, facebook and twitter as things progress.
What an exciting day we had on Monday…woke to discover we had been “scooped” by Sauce magazine!
We still have some work to do on getting things up and running – finalizing our financing (got cash? call me;)) – negotiating the lease – buying equipment – etc, etc…
The response on facebook & twitter has been awesome and our spirits are buoyed by everyone’s enthusiasm for our little bakery project.
Speaking of facebook & twitter, find us, like us, tweet us. We would put a link here, but we don’t know how (know how & want to help for free, call me;))
We have been working on this dream of a tiny little bakery and coffeeshop for years and it is beginning to come to fruition. Check back here often for updates and progress. For now, all I have to say is that it is happening…that it will be cute and cozy in South City…that you will want to come by everyday…etc…
